Welcome to a website dedicated to the peculiar inhabitants and practices of the owners of the Camelot Castle Hotel. In our forum (linkie to the right) you may discuss issues concerning this hotel and its impact on the village of Tintagel.
Since the BBC profile aired, there has been some interest in the hotel and its occupants. On the serious side, there is concern over how the foreign staff are treated and housed. On the lighter side, we have the Scientology connection and Ted Stourton’s Light Room offerings.
We have seen the disparity between reviews of Camelot Castle Hotel; there is no middle ground. Many people wrote very telling reviews; cold, damp, mold and shabby furnishings coupled with resort prices and misleading advertising.
Scientology is peripherally involved, both as an annoyance to the community in the form of junk mail sent out by Mappin, and also because their doctrine is reflected in Camelot Castle Hotel’s shady business practices.
However, the purpose of this website is to expose any dubious activity (such as installing cheap plastic windows in an English Heritage building without permission) misleading advertising, opportunistic hard sales of owner Ted Stourton’s daubs, and presenting nonexistent amenities such as a “private, golden sand beach” that only exists in Photoshop.
The main goal of this site is to force the Camelot Castle crew to abide by acceptable business practices, expose fraudulent advertising, and provide a forum where people who are interested in this curious saga may discuss the many annoying factors that make up the whole of the Camelot Castle Hotel experience.

Don’t go there. Tiny smelling room, badly mannered and boorish staff. Owners just want you to buy Ted Stourton’s pictures for thousands pounds, but if you don’t they lower the price to 90 pounds. Pictures of the rooms, corridors and the restaurant are being retouched in Photoshop. They are scientologists known from killing one girl with diabetics! Unbelievable the police accepts that. Ted Stourton lightbox is nothing more than a dark room with projections of his poor paintings, from garbage.
How dare you defame my Hotel and person like this you set of fucking bigots? The reason you’re all so poor is because you don’t have Scientology in your life, it’s why you all take your children to the quack and beg him for mind altering drugs and why you beat your wives.

its fucking true, i HAD BEEN WORKING THERE, IT SSMEALLY , HORRIBLE AND DANGER, I KNOW THAT SO MANY PEOPLE FROM WORKING STUFF BEEN **************, OR SOMETHING. DONT BELIEVE THEM THIS IS TRUE DANGEREOUS PLACE, WITH COMPLITLY CRAZY ONERS.

sorry about my english, I creation this message very spontaneous. I will try eplain wat we feel, AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN WORKS FOR MAPPINS.generaly mainly all people employed in hotel, are young people from east europe, like me. this is easy to know why. young people, with bad english, very often first time far away from family home, and newe place and work, this kind of people is very easy manipulate. why?couse we dont know law, what to do in case if something is wrong, what kond institution chose. maybe the text with peopole murdered in the garden is litlle bit to much say, but all tyranny. , espionage, , blackmail, is absolutlly normaly behaviour for mappins, and using this metods they track young staff every day. no one working there more than 3 mounths. first day when I come, they give as special scientology book, and say we must read this every day, after work, after all day working in the hotel, we shout read this crap. it was very annoing, and depresed. I really beliave in god, and I have very crealy methods how to life, im not drinker and drag dealer, but for mappins everyone, who, dont like scientology and try revolt, they call you like this, “drug deler, stetx like see you in court etc.it menas threaten. every one who escape from hotel we have the same opinion, this is typical sect. reaaly dengoures.many times, they took as to special room, with white wall, for interwiew, and mappins ask , what we thing about a book, that stay with them can change my life, and many taxt like this. all this was really strange atmosphere. very specific, they looked you( probably mappins using hypnosis somethimes), try manipulate , effect we started complaine about others from stuff, because they wanted.many times I saw like girl after interwiev cried , we feel blame- but this is tipical mappins game. thay have olny two people stay with mappins very long, one polish gay and secend one , his friend, other change like crazy. no one is good.
about hotel , I can say is very dirty and old, in this place you can not say too much, you can be in danger, i feeel afreid when i decided put this commnet on the blog. really. hotel is really ugly, old toilet are in the room, on the secend and higest floor.may palces are ugly and really dingy!I spend there about all summer, and decided never more in this palce. ted storton is crazy as well. but generally the nicer person in the hotel, he doing his arty work, i don mind , i dont care, about what kind of arty he did. good qualitty or not. i study art at uniwersity so i see many works many pictures, so for me is weak, but,and litlle bit to expensive (he sell his work very expensive). i still have contact with people from past, we been working together, and every one said we hate this place. be carrefour when you say something. i really afraid about my self when i put this post and said absollutly true.

At the moment I’m looking for a job just for sumer , I had been workong in camelot castel before about all summer as well, so I think I get some basic experience. Do you know anythink about job in tintagel, as a kitchen stuff, sandwich maker, or something like this, let me know please.I wll be very gratefull.

we had a lovely time at Camelot, the art is up to your own view point I happen to like it very much. I never rubbish other peoples creativity. However I very much disagree with the comments about the staff. we found them to be friendly , helpful, fun, polite , very courteous, this was english and eastern european staff. This must reflect the owners!! How long do you spend in a hotel room?? The great hall and other public areas are exceptionally decorated and very relaxing, take it for what it is an oasis, a very different hotel, but is that not the great thing? Not a sanitised chain, everything clinical.This hotel was very clean, no dust anywhere, wish I could say that about my home!! The building is over 100 years old, respect it and the fact the owners are trying to keep it up to date, that takes time and investment. If you run you own business you would understand. We found the evening meal to be wonderful, some say expensive, but we saw a panini in a local cafe priced at £7.50 so you tell me what is value for money. This hotel is not for everyone, but for those who appreciate a unique and memorable place to stay the go and have a wonderful time at Camelot, but lever cynicism at home, its an emotion that is not worth the energy.
it’s even more diffiCULT to bring an old dump up to date when spending over £10 per house spamming everyone in Tintagel with nutty cult CCHR DVD’s
